Choosing an appropriate picture for your custom order is important. When you submit your order and upload your photo, we will check the photo to verify that it’s digitalized version can have the best quality. We will edit and enhance your photo in the process to reach best results. If necessary, we will ask you to send us another photo. However, not all photos could return good results. In this post you will see a comparison between different photos to give you an idea of how to choose the best photos for string art before submitting them on the website.
Lighting
Good lighting is important. String art can show your real recognizable face better when you provide a bright photo of yours with good lighting conditions.
Glasses
Glasses are ok, but sunglasses are not! Sunglasses eat up a lot of space and cover your eyes, so your real face won’t be shown clearly in string arts.
Sideview
Sideview photos of yours are still ok, but good lighting is an important parameter to consider yet.
Couple
Like to have a unique memorable artwork from one of your wedding photos? Well, a lovely close up photo that two of you are near each other as much as possible is more suitable.
Portrait
It’s nice to have all of the family members in one shot, but not in thread arts! Too many details in a photo, won’t let the string to draw the details of each person’s face individually! So portrait or couple photos are the better choices for a thread art.
Logo
Like to have your logo hanged on your office wall, in a creative way? Well, a simplified version of your logo is more suitable for thread arts. Though that’s not necessary! So if you don’t have a simple logo (i.e. a logo that only has one or two primary colors), there’s no worries; we will edit and enhance your uploaded photo in the process to reach best results.

Like to have a string art of a text or name? Anything is possible! But a short text with one or two words, and clear font is better. See? A single string must travel between one nail to another, so it’s so hard for it to separate each word of a letter if there are to many letters in one frame!
